For this project, we had the task of working in small teams to produce a one-minute animation in response to a novel by Thomas Hardy. We were working with Wessex Museums on this project and they wanted us to produce the animations for their upcoming Hardy exhibition.
The exhibition aims to make Hardy more human, so our job was to make his work more relevant, introducing his work to younger audiences. But we also had to ensure we didn’t alienate their existing audiences, so the animations had to appeal to all.
Here is a poster design that I did for Swell Festival, I used the logo as the basis for the poster, while having images of the artists playing around the outside. The gradient that goes from cream to blue represents how the festival goes from day to night.
To the right are some lanyard designs that would be given to all VIPs who attend the Swell Festival. The lanyard has a small map of the festival, so they will always know where they are going. I chose to design lanyards for the VIPs so they can easily stand out from everyone else at the festival.
I also wanted to design some merchandise for the festival. I started off by designing a t-shirt with the line-up on and a wind-breaker. As you can see below, I got the t-shirt printed. I also designed a tote bag which I got printed and then photographed, as well as printing my fold out map/line-up leaflet.
